In the wonderful class, Supplies Me, with Jane Davenport, she challenged us to make a page going CRAZY with inks. Here is what my results were! I love inks - I used Dylusions, even though they usually come up through the layers, I kind of like that. The first thing I did was spray the various colors I wanted to use. Then I used a thick white Golden paint to stencil on top. When that dried, I used some gesso on a brayer to push back some of the bright colors so I could draw on it. I used a layer of clear gesso where I wanted her face to be, so it would somewhat hold back the ink from coming through. I used a Jane stencil for the face, and gave her wild flowing hair using two different dylusions spray colors. I sprayed them on, then pushed them around with some water. To finish, I set the painting upright, sprayed on some more sprays, and let them run down the page. One of my absolute FAVORITE ways to work. Thanks for the challenge, Jane!
